Training Consultant

Design and develop engaging and instructionally sound system-related eLearning courses, job aids, and training material for instructor-led training. Design, organize, and deliver stand up and virtual training as requested. Collaborate with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to compile and transfer the appropriate knowledge to learning objectives and training content. Will also manage and maintain the program’s SharePoint site.
Provide support to the Regional and Local Change Management strategy and approach, and collaborate on a diverse range of activities, including communications and training, to help regional stakeholders move throughout the change journey.

Responsibilities
Training – work with the Change, Comms & Training Lead on the following:

  • Support the development of the training plan for the implementation and rollout across the various markets. The rollout will initially focus on Asia but will have a global approach. This includes but is not limited to identification of training resource/tool needs, and analysis of training needs and requirements by stakeholder group
  • Work with the Change, Comms & Training Lead to design, develop and maintain eLearning courses and additional supporting materials such as job aids which incorporate concepts, process flows, scenarios, demonstrations and simulations with corresponding audio (as appropriate) using development tools such as Articulate Storyline
  • Interview and collaborate with Product Owners and SMEs to determine business-specific aspects of systems, identify learning objectives and relevant content for courses, handouts, job aids, user manuals, communication pieces and related resource materials
  • Engage and align with Global and Regional underwriting training programs and format to ensure longevity and cohesiveness of the Materials as part of overall functional suite of training materials
  • Design and conduct pre- and post-course assessments to measure knowledge or skill transfer in comparison to the stated objectives
  • Organize, maintain and update training content repository and provide appropriate document handoff upon completion of engagement

Change Management and Communications – work with the Change, Comms & Training Lead on the following:

  • Perform a support role to the Lead who in turn will support Regional Underwriting Operations on Regional and Local Program strategy and key stakeholder decisions
  • Work closely with the Lead and Program team to support and develop the implementation of the overall Change Management strategy and approach, including but not limited to change readiness assessments, change management strategy and plans, communications, presentations, reports, and others
  • Support Program team with planning for Local Office visits or Regional workshops

Overarching Responsibilities:

  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders within the organisation (including Administration Operations, Claims, IT, Audit, Risk, Compliance and Legal) and multiple offices globally to ensure current and future work is aligned to meet the business’s best interests
  • Connect with other corporate communications and training professionals to promote appropriate use of all possible channels and share best practices
  • Foster a productive spirit of cooperation, coordination and dialogue among Local Offices. Utilize knowledge and expertise in the development of global underwriting operations, programs, strategic plans, goals and objectives to ensure consistency and compliance among all offices
  • Embrace a high level of change with competing internal customer expectations in a highly customer-focused environment
  • Proactively enforce and advance best practices and consistent change management practices
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry practices, trends and applications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design and eLearning development and standup or online training
  • 3+ years of professional experience using a rapid development tool, preferably Articulate Storyline
  • Prosci change management certification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated change management and training experience
  • Experience with working with Multicultural/Regional teams
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Additional language abilities other than English (Chinese, Japanese or Korean), a distinct advantage

Skills and Abilities
Required:

  • Advanced or proficient knowledge in:
    • Learning Management systems and tools, including Articulate Storyline, MS Publisher and MS Office (e.g. Visio, Project and PowerPoint), SharePoint, video development and editing and image editing to support learning tools
    • Translating needs/processes into replicable training materials for delivery
    • Breaking down complex processes into clear and logical steps
    • Needs analysis, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders
  • Ability to:
    • Collaborate well within a team environment and foster a customer service focused environment
    • Manage multiple tasks and projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to handle changing priorities
    • Understand and meet clients’ needs
    • Work online and to accommodate peers in all time zones
    • Work successfully in a fast moving and often pressured environment
