We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Partner Actuarial to join the team in Japan.

As a Partner Actuarial with a strong consulting background, local market experience, and business development focus, you will play a critical role in driving growth initiatives, leading and developing the local team, and providing strategic guidance to clients. This position requires a deep understanding of actuarial principles, strong business acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business development efforts, including identifying potential clients, cultivating existing relationships, and expanding our client base within the Japanese market.
  • Utilize your strong consulting background to provide strategic guidance and deliver innovative solutions to clients, leveraging actuarial expertise and management consulting principles.
  • Foster seamless integration of actuarial and management consulting services by collaborating closely with internal teams, enhancing client outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor a team of talented professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their technical skills and overall professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging market dynamics to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for clients.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to build brand awareness, establish professional connections, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in actuarial and management consulting roles within the Japanese market.
  • Strong business development focus, with a proven track record of successfully identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
  • Professional actuarial qualifications (FSAJ, FIAJ, ASA, FSA, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Japanese market, including regulatory frameworks, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet client needs.
